Hiring Summer Staff And Foreign Exchanges

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

With each summer, there comes a seasonality about the jobs market, wherein hires tend to happen, but on more temporarily or definite terms, rather than indefinite periods and terms. With each summer, you’re bound to find a situation that will call for employers that are need to start hiring summer staff, particularly those that are interested in participating in a sort of foreign exchange program. In this case, we’re talking about foreign exchange in the United States Department of State sense of the world, not necessarily the foreign exchange student sense of the world. But, in many cases, in fact a good number of the cases, these situations are actually school oriented sort of situations, with students applying for J-1 visas with definite termination and expiration dates set up by the visa (a non immigrant status visa). And whether student or summer staff, if you’re in the United States on such a visa, it is important to start your exit well before expiration.
