Camping appeals to many people. I remember as a kid when I was in 5th Grade there was a 2 day camp which had been organized by our sports teacher. Up til then, the only experience of camping I had was at a music festival – we had festival camping gear and funky wellies etc – not really “survival” camping (though some would say it was!).
The idea of camping was to bring awareness about mother nature, care for the trees and to survive with minimum of resources in the open. Truly speaking it was really a wonderful experience for me. The camp location was about 4 hours drive from our city and it was in a hilly area surrounded by lots of trees. After our ride we had to walk for about 1 hour to reach the spot in the mountain which was selected by our sports teacher to camp for the night. During the night we had light meals as we had to get up early the next day.The first thing I learned was how to take care of mother nature and its ecosystem and the first step was from planting new trees and spreading the message of no to cutting of trees and not polluting the ecosystem. The second thing which I learned was nature is so beautiful and it is so rich in its original form like where there is no human intrusion it is like nature is giving a message to all of us please respect me and preserve me so that your coming generations will be able to live here peacefully and happily. And truly so nowadays we hear of global warming heavy snowfall, clouds of ashes which disrupts our normal lives. After the two days of camping in the open we had transformed ourselves into children who love mother nature and happy with whatever little resources we had to live our life. All this has attracted me of camping from school times and even now I go camping with few of my friends and enjoy the things that Nature has to offer and spread the message across of keeping our planet green and free of pollution to be able to live a peaceful and happy life for all of us.
