Single Parents Are Sincere

Sunday, June 26th, 2011

I have met two single parents at the school where my nephew studied. They were single but decided to adopt kids. I was curious about single parenthood so I asked them how they incorporate discipline among their children. They told me that being single is tough especially in dealing with children. Little children are oftentimes hard-headed. You need to have patience when talking to the kids. According to them, kids could understand better if you would explain to them the reason of giving punishment. It would help them become mature. They would not do the same action again if they feel you are sincere enough in dealing with the issue. Some kids are rebellious because their parents have no time to explain about the consequences of their actions. Well, you do not need a partner to make things work. You can raise the child and lead him to the right way if you are sincere about your advocacy.

Very Wonderful Boppy Pregnancy Pillow

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

My sister used to have very bad night’s well into her pregnancy. It has nothing to do with having bad dreams but she cannot sleep well because her body is aching so much. She is not used to sleeping in one position because when she was not pregnant she would really be very active while she sleeps by frequently changing positions.

With the pregnancy, it is something that she cannot do much so she cannot sleep well. This is becoming a big problem because she gets very irritable during the morning, plus her baby needs her well rested for growth and development. Thankfully her husband for a good boppy pregnancy pillow that she used and it was the one thing that she needed to sleep well at night and wake up to good mornings. She said that it was very comfortable and it made her sleep very good and soundly.

Managing Summer Conditions During Pregnancy

Friday, April 1st, 2011

So, you used to look forward to summertime when you were still single – outings at the beach and all – totally unmindful of the scorching heat. But now, in your first maternity getup, you find yourself cursing the sun every minute because you feel as if its rays hit you more than everyone else.

The explanation? Pregnant women already have higher-than-normal body temperature, and so heightened heat and humidity from the environment can make summer a torture to them. Of course, you’re exempted from this predicament if you’re lucky enough to have air conditioning at home. But for the sake of the majority who are not, applying a cool, moist towelette over certain parts of the body can actually do the trick. Apart from this, you can also mist yourself using a water-filled spray bottle to get instant soothing relief from the punishing temperature.

Drinking plenty of fluids is always helpful, but not too much, as it may lead to a condition referred to as water intoxication.

Comfortable maternity clothing can likewise contribute towards a less torturous summer pregnancy.

Teens Need to Be Creative when Looking for Jobs

Friday, February 11th, 2011

Since most 15 year olds can’t get jobs with real companies because they are too young, they need to be on the lookout for things they can do to make money around their house or neighborhood. A good example presented itself last week with the big snowstorm that swept across the country.

Shoveling snow is a perfect example of something a 15-year-old can do to make money. All you would need is a shovel and you are in business. Homeowners are always looking for help getting out of the snow by clearing driveways and walkways. There are even some cities in America where it is the law that you have to clear your own sidewalks.

In a city like that a 15-year-old could make a good chunk of money every time it snows. So, while jobs for 15 year olds may not be found in the traditional places, they are out there if you use your creativity and keep your eyes open for opportunities.

When to Change Your Will

Friday, October 15th, 2010

Of course most of us will have a Will – that’s only sensible. And nowadays you can make a Will very quickly and cheaply using a website that provides online wills . So changing your will becomes quick and easy. Most people will need to change their will at least two or three times during their lifetime.

However it is important to note that you do not have to change your online will if your address changes, or indeed the address of any of your beneficiaries or executors. You can make life easier for your executors (personal representatives) by keeping a list of current addresses with your Will document.

You might consider changing your online will when your children are born, when they become adults, and when they have children of their own. And of course if your spouse dies, or you become divorced. Some people may enjoy rewriting their online will every time some relative falls out of favour.

New Vs Old Sit And Spin Toys

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

They have been around for ages. You had one, I had one, everybody had one when we were little. Sit and spin toys were almost a thing that could define our childhood. Well, the question is: how are the modern sit ‘n spin toys compared to the old ones?

If you ask around, you will see that opinions differ from parent to parent. All kids love the new ones, but not all parents do. Why? Because now it’s not just about spinning around, now they added circuits, micro chips and sound blasters, like we see looking at the the Playskool Music and Lights Sit ‘n Spin Toy, for instance. Lights flicker, music plays and the kid gets dizzy. But some parents (including myself) don’t really appreciate all that electronic noise. It gets annoying over time. This is why I just took the batteries out of my kid’s toy and told him it broke and it doesn’t work anymore. A little cruel, yes, but now it’s much better. Me, I prefer the classic type, no music, no lights, just fun.
