Abbreviations Are Also Part Of The Crochet Terms And Definitions

Monday, September 13th, 2010

Crochet Terms And Definitions cover more than the terms and the definition for each word. If you notice, your patterns, the one written in plain text, contain short words that makes no sense if read literally. Why is that? Because almost the entire pattern is written with abbreviations.

Thats it. The key to understanding the pattern is actually learning the basic crochet terms and definitions and mastering the abbreviations.

Sometimes this can be the weakness of many beginning crocheters. Mastering a very long list of abbreviations is so hard that they give up with what they started. It is so wrong to be discouraged to continue how to crochet just because we get bored reading the pattern. It must be understood that abbreviations are used to simplify the pattern. Crocheting is repetitive in process and writing the words in its entirety will produce a multiple-paged pattern. Could you just imagine crocheting a small pouch with three pages of instructions to follow?

Beautifying Home with Lladro Figurines

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Your home is a place that has a very special meaning for you. At its best it brings security, happiness and inspiration into your life. There are many reasons for this. One of the most important is the relationship you have there with members of your family and your friends. Your home also furnishes physical comfort since it is the place where you eat, sleep, work and play. Moreover, it can provide the beauty with which you wish to surround yourself.

Have you ever considered what is meant by the “atmosphere” of a home? It is the feeling or impression that you get of the kind of life that exists in a home. It is created by the occupants, the furnishings – sofas, lamps, tables and some LLadro Figurines, and the dwelling itself. A home reflects happiness, contentment, sadness, restlessness, or other attitudes of its occupants. Each member of the family contributes to the atmosphere of the home. No matter how attractively it is furnished, a home will be cold and meaningless if the family members are not warm and cordial to each other and to their guests.

Caring For Your M. I. Hummel Figurines

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

For collectors of M. I. Hummel Figurines, the pieces are lovingly stored in a glass cupboard for all to enjoy and see. Although they are stored in glass, dust can sometimes get into the figurines.

In cleaning your M. I. Hummel Figurines, set the figurine in a flat table and cover the air hole so that the inside will not get wet. Take a mild soap or baby shampoo and add lukewarm water. Get a small paint brush or make-up brush and dip it in the solution. Brush the solution gently over the figurine body. To rinse, get a soft cloth and dip it in tepid water. Wipe the figurine so as to take out the soap. Set the figurine on the table to let it dry in the air for around two hours,

Clean the cupboard with a dry paint brush to take the dust out. You may also vacuum the inside of the cupboard. If there is still dust in the sides or edges that’s hard to remove, take a masking tape and pat it on the dust so that it will stick to the tape.

Once the figurines are dry, gently arrange or rearrange them into the clean cupboard. You are now ready to enjoy your collection of M. I. hummels figurines.
